Just looking through the latest LRO and I've seen an advert for Flatdog jheadlight guards that use the screws that are already in the headlamp surround to secure them to the body, instead of drilling holes in the wing.
I'm tempted as I don't want to drill holes in the wings, but they have "Flatdog" cut into the side of the guard that makes them look a bit cheesy to me and I'd prefer plain in this respect. Are there any others on the market that fit in this way so I don't have to drill the wings? Cheers. Chris. http://shropshirelandrovers.freeforums.org 2015 Defender 90 XS SW & Helen, 1964 IIa. ... just wondered, if you are worried about drilling the wings, why do you want to protect the lights from severe damage 2005 TD5 90 Hard Top

Bite the bullet, and fit the hinged ones, measure twice and drill once, it's not such a big deal, just take your time. I've got LR ones and I think they look the . Life is not a rehearsal!

Headlights and other lights are harder to damage than the body work. By fitting guards all you are doing is drilling holes in the body work, and making the lights harder to clean. I have damaged many wings and other panels laning and competing, but only broken two rear lights. The rear lights are about six pound new from Land Rover, and new headlights are only twenty, so why spend more on guards, and do more panel damage.

To add the balance - ive seen more people damage headlights and lights off road, laning and buy things like bird strikes - all i can tell you, the 2 pheasants that hit my light guards didnt damage anything!!! Mike
