It's more surprising than most will realise until experienced first hand.

Just to take a different angle on EV’s and acceleration.
Prior to all the lock downs in Surrey alone we had three cases of elder people accidentally hitting the accelerator and not the brake (autos) and then having an accident. One hit a coffee shop and another hit the Friary shopping centre in Guildford. Not even going to mention BMW drivers using the empty roads as their personal race tracks whilst families were out cycling together. So the question, should the manufacturers / YouTubers be celebrating acceleration speeds over other perceived advantages of EV’s. I guess to answer my own question is that acceleration and the feeling of speed is sexier than comfy seats and cup holders. At least with me in front of them, that will slow them down……. |

My wife was involved in an accident last week - car pulled out in front of her - and so her Discovery is off being repaired. As a loan car she's got a Mitsubishi Outlander, which is my first experience of an EV. Whilst the car itself doesn't hold a candle to the Discovery, the effortlessly smooth acceleration on battery power is very addictive. Darren
