That’s lovely Blackwolf. Your £500 in 1984 is the equivalent of about £1500 today- drop me a pm 😂

I don't half kick myself sometimes! When you here what people paid and now what they're worth! And not because I wanted to make a profit but that I'm unlikely to now ever be able to afford one! James

And the full-width opening vent, rarely found except on ex-military vehicles.

Also fitted to many CKD vehicles. The rubber seal around the vent had completely disintegrated however Blanchards had/ have new old stock ones. |

To be honest James I was thinking that an early Series One would go well with YOUR Slate Grey Ninety

As a matter of interest, was your vent factory fitted or retro-fitted (i.e., are there pop rivet holes in the windscreen frame) under the vent? |

As far as aI can tell it’s the original windscreen frame, there are no pop rivet holes, so must have been fitted when assembled. The windscreen ventilator is listed in the extra equipment and special vehicles section of the parts book however there is nothing in the Remarks Column to state that it was for CKD or Military use. It’s interesting to read what was available at that time in the miscellaneous extras section, for example part number 261965 Flag Staff, can’t say I have ever seen one but I assume they might have been fitted to some Military or Ceremonial vehicles. |
