2 liter or 3 liter diesel?
Hi everyone! We have a lot of 200 hp 2l diesel in stock so I wonder is it enough for defender or it’s worth to wait for 250 hp 3li diesel which should be available in spring for like 5K Euro more? I’m going to use this car as expedition vehicle, but likely not going to do any really tough rock crawling.

Bigger is better. The D200 and D250 are probably easily boosted to D300 +++ BHP if required too. I think the 6cyl is the diesel the new 663 needed from launch. It was the one I was holding out for. 1951 80" S1 2.0

My pre-buy test drive was a 4 cylinder D200 and it almost put me off buying one as I personally found it underpowered for my requirements. For many who dont need the ability to cross continents or haul big heavy trailers but only want a mall cruiser or school run bus then it’s fine, after all all the Series, 90/110’s and Defenders that went before it managed with a lot less power and torque and owners managed just fine. Basis my experience with the D240, if I were to be buying again now I would be happy with a run out D240 or waiting for the D250, the extra torque of the D250 over the D240 would be nice to have but I can live with what the 240 has. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!
