Fitted kaiser diff lock today
Fitted and roadtested the kaiser unit today,

normal driving you wouldnt know it was there, handling is the same BUT ......

I dipped the clutch on full lock and nearly s**t myself Shocked bang bang BANG !! it sounded like i had yanked the handbrake on whilst moving. After some playing about i found its only on full lock when freewheeling that the locker doesnt know its ar*e from its elbow, if i had the lock stops where the factory set them (crap turning circle) it doesnt do it. Im pretty confident i understand why it does it and its normal for one of these but it still put the fear of god into me when it did it. It did it at the petrol station on my way home and everyone looked to see the donkey who cant drive his landrover properly Embarassed Whistle good job its 24hr and i will go back later when no one is there Laughing

Im going to practise driving quietley , so the jurys still out until sundays off-roading session Sad or Very Happy Question

I don't know anything about the Kaiser diff lockers, but I am guessing they are the same as the Detroit jobbers.

I remember reading a bout 'auto lockers' and in general people said that if your wheelbase is less than 110" then it is best not t use as you get knocking and banging when you turn corners. This is the reason I was put off getting one for my old Discovery. I am considering a tru-trac for my 110 though when funds premit Smile
