Cold Air Only !
I have a 2008 110 and today noticed that the temp needle goes to half way in about one minute ( normal an age) and there is only cold air blowing !

I am a tad worried as I had a 300Tdi Disco years ago and that was a precursor to the P gasket and had to have a new head !

I have been picking up on a couple of shoot the last two days but haven't done anything unusual as such.

any initial thoughts ? and can I drive in the meantime ?.

TIA

Is the heater valve actually operating and opening?

Is there an air lock in the hose (bleed valve on top heater hose)

Funnily enough I noticed that my 2009 110 got to running temp quicky today!

I've been doing some work on it recently so have got to know how she runs quite well now. I did check the coolant and it was where it should be. I recently changed the heater valve and have bled the air a few times as well as doing the full process when you fill the coolant up.

I do have an issue that has been known to be caused by head gasket (going into limp mode when accelerating up hill in 6th) but the chem test came back clean so don't think thats the issue.

I did change the VCV today so thought that it could now be running more efficiently - it certainly sounded like it! But aside from that everything seemed normal.

I'll still keep driving mine but will just keep and eye on it. I do have a nanocom running live stats when I drive.

You indicated the most probable issue in your first post.
Water cooled EGR could also be an intersting detail to look at.

And some claim the cap not to be fully tight

Good luck Wink
