£300 million written off on the XJ not now coming to market is just the latest in a number of about turns made by senior management ~ all of them have cost significant sums of money.
And now plus the rest... https://www.defender2.net/forum/post888059.html#888059 Last edited by Supacat on 27th Feb 2021 7:04am. Edited 1 time in total |

What makes you think I haven’t ~ I think my time in Saudi Arabia beat any temps/conditions from my time in Australia.
The point being made ~ as I think you may have completely missed it, was if you are doing a comparison it would be useful to have some actual criteria to measure and data to compare.
Interesting that you think you need a tint to reduce UVB. "UVB rays, the primary sunburn ray, are largely blocked by glass". https://www.skincancer.org/blog/sneaky-way...s-uv-rays/ And most windscreens are laminated by law which has the effect of filtering out a high percentage of UVA. Perhaps not the best source but worthy of noting that: "Even tinted windows, which use a special film to black out light, were found to be ineffective to protect someone from the UVA lights. Instead, the tint only blocks out visible light and not the harmful UV rays." https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/1754362/how-...motorists/ The key differentiation to be made is that UVA protection and tinting are not necessarily one and the same. You reference 3M. Here's a product from them that does the UV protection without reducing the VLT: Crystalline Automotive Window Film "This unique technology is the reason a virtually clear film can reject more heat than darker films." https://www.3m.co.uk/3M/en_GB/car-wrapping-uk/window-tinting/ Last edited by Supacat on 27th Feb 2021 6:40am. not really i was just being lazy today.. as you say most glass stops UVB, on the side windows its the UVA that will also
penetrate and many tempered glasses only reduce it so much, it can vary by manufacturers. Interesting answer from a UK car leasing company as well as privacy was one of the favourite choices,, https://www.allcarleasing.co.uk/blog/does-...k-uv-rays/ In Oz most if not all will offer UV A reduction ceramic tints .. and some dealers recommend putting clear film over privacy as a precaution against UV.. why pay twice, thought just go aftermarket and get a quality film that will do the job properly p.s. even in ozzzstrayleur you are not allowed to tint the windscreen.. up to A pillar only pps another link for you https://wiki.cancer.org.au/policy/Position...ed_windows yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |

Just finished a DIY job on my brake calipers. I wanted something different so I went with green instead of the typical red. I'm sure it's not everyone's taste and there will be negative comments but I love it...

Good effort and I think it looks good. Who cares what anyone else thinks anyway as long as you are pleased with the result that’s all that matters. Kudos for going for something different though 😎

My Defender didn't come from the factory with the rear recovery loops and I really don't want to pull the rear bumper cover off to install them. Maybe one day I'll get around to it and paint the front recovery loop as well. Ray

no, not at all, I love it, what seems difficult and worthwhile is to see it as correct before doing it, it shows personality ... now, after doing it, it's easy to see it ... well done !! |
