Somebody asked about fitting an Oztent in a new 90 in the way that you describe only a few days ago and the conclusion was that it wouldn't, unfortunately. Darren

Might have been me, I have a habit of repeating myself!
Looking at the 90 specs it looks like I’d get 1.7m (1m load area + 0.7m between the seats) so going to be 30cm too short. I’m now just wondering if I can get the tent in diagonally, rear right to front left, by taking out the passenger seat. It’s a shame the 110HT doesn’t do a base D200 on coils, that would be ideal and could also be used as a mini campervan. |

Would it not be easier to just get a smaller tent? 🤔 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

I already have one but the RV3 is spot on for me, it becomes a regular home from home. A tent just isn’t the same if you have to come out on hands and knees. A plan is being hatched for a Scandinavian RT next summer, including here.
Click image to enlarge I am also figuring out how I’d get all the stuff in Skippy, which would be the sensible option. He/she (haven’t decided which) would happily do everything I would want to do in a Defender, I’d just save a load of cash and get almost 60mpg, but where’s the fun in that? |

Sounds more like you need the 110 with the walkthrough option DSL Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

The 90/HT have just done a dealer tour, other than the air suspension they were pretty much production spec. My dealer though only had the 110HT.
As others have said I think a base D200 110 would do you. |

Kind of thinking that way now. Walk through would also make getting toll tickets and putting cards in the slots a lot easier, as well as helping with the Oztent.
If get’s to thinking that way it would be a small campervan. |

PS Thinking of the Stormtrooper look, like this but minus the wheel cover and roof rack.

There’s not a lot of boxes ticked. Roof rails, priv glass, off-road tyres, wheel arches, bonnet decal & RAI and that’s it. The lower the cost the better, plus a spec not far off my old D3, may she Rust in Pieces.
PS And it’s cheaper than above, that’s with the accessories pack to show what it would look like with the wheel eyebrows & RAI. This is the proper cost. Click image to enlarge |

P300 S is the key difference
Less is more on the new Defender in my eyes, I just don’t see the reasons why I can’t get a base D200 90 in the UK when other markets can |
