Yeah it could be a way to claw back some of the costs because the standard FE spec is good value for your money, I priced up a SE like for like and it came out a few grand more. The only
Downfall is you’re stuck with that spec so it’s take it or leave it and only a few optional extras, the only extras I went for was the rear diff, I should of really got the roof rails but the price was escalating over my budget so called it a day. It’s very easy to get carried away on that configurator I ended up leaving that cold weather pack off it’s a luxury I can live without. Some of the FE spec I won’t even use like the lane keep assist and blind spot assist etc |

I also did a like for like spec up, adding all the FE stuff to the SE as a start point and it soon stared to get a few £k above the FE price. The main component for the winter pack, for me, is the heated wheel which is there anyway. My only reservation re the FE is the sunroof, and whether it would leak.

Hmm not sure on the sun roof tbh I’ve never owned any Land Rovers other than old defender pumas so this is my first new Land Rover in 12 years. I’ve ordered the 90 FE and that comes with the fabric roof I think that is now an option on the 110.

Land Rover and opening roofs, be it glass or fabric, is a no no for me. They will leak or break.

It’s not a proper defender if it doesn’t leak somewhere
No but jokes aside I hope mine doesn’t leak, these FE 90’s are going to be the guinea pigs for the fabric roof |

I have a first edition, I was initially spec’ing up a SE but when the dealer called me with an offer on a FE that I couldn’t refuse, I went with it.
I wasn’t keen on the sunroof, but once I got in for a test drive with one, I immediately saw the benefit, especially on the 110 with privacy glass. Without it, it does make for a very dark interior. The sunroof for me, just makes lighter and enjoyable for rear passengers/ pets. But yeh I guess time will tell for leaks, so far though - it’s a winner! Defender D240 First Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Wrapped roof in Gloss white. Few other dealer fitted extras. |

Reminds me of seeing the water dip/leak testing facility in Solihull. All cars except the Defender failed if they leaked, Defenders were sent back for rectification if they didn’t! |

To be fair I did think about adding the fabric roof but paying £895 for blue paint then paying £900 to have part of my £895 paint job painted white then paying £1700 to have a massive hole in the roof I’ve just paid £900 to have painted white was more off putting than any possible issue with the roof itself. If that makes sense At least on the 90 there is a large expanse of glass in the rear which brightens the place up, alpine lights on the 110 seem a bit too far back to me. |

I think I do prefer it to the glass roof though
Click image to enlarge Anyway to answer the original question I think it maybe a misprint and both packs should be £260. |
