Just think of all the extras you can get the truck when all you need to buy are T-shirts and pants.......

Hi Gin-and-Landy and welcome!
I used a garage called Stagshaw http://stagshaw.com/ in Gateshead and could not recommended it enough!! The owner is fantastic and very personable. They're new but their standard of work is phenomenal and thanks to them I now have a clean MOT with no advisories I left my full review on Google if you want to see it. I also had my chassis given a partial underseal whilst in for its MOT but I'd recommend you do the full package as one of the members, PCM managed to wrangle us members a discount! https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic75570.html Stuart Cummins 130 Build Thread 58 130 Double Cab HCPU - Cairns Blue 04 110 Double Cab - Black (gone) 07 Audi RS4 Avant - Silver |

Good to hear.
I hate recommending places 'just in case' however best LR (Defender) specialist I've been to in years. |

Thanks all for the recomendation. Stuart, thanks for the PM. You really sound impressed by Stagshaw.
I'll give them a call on Monday. Website looks great, but even better is word of mouth. Sorry, but i'm new so can't reply to your PM (Yet) |

Stagshaw. Really can't fault them. Owner was genuinely interested in my motor and not my wallet. Very refreshing really.
Booked in for a chassis steam and dinitrol but as I'm thinking of selling it they're dpcumenting the chassis for me pre-dinitrol. or leaving it garaged and untreated in case the new owner might want to inspect it if i decide to sell if quickly. |

Hi Gin, could you advise the rough price on the chassis treatment?
Wasn't aware of Stagshaw... |

Neither was I until Stuart and PCM recommended them. They're quite small and personable but i like that.
I was in this week and they were doing 2 nut and bolt builds. (and I mean literally stripped down to every nut and bolt) Everything was nicely laid out, checked and replaced if needed. Chassis were Marsland galvanised replacements with literally as new axles. The rest is to be done. A 110 one is already sold, buy they were working on a 90 that can still be specified from the chassis up. Said it could be built to a hugely high standard better than new from 35+vat upwards depending on your required finish level. Builds looked classy more than bling. Owner said cost for a Dinitrol varies but someone on the forum organised a black chassis black friday deal with £50 off mine should be not need any welding works so looking at about 5-550 for a 90 or 6-650 for a 110. I do feel that as the only Approved Dinitrol centre in the NE, they would give it the time and preparation they need. Only issue is they need the vehicle from a friday to a friday to allow drying time inside the chassis. But again I thing this is a good thing rather than a 2 day flake off job. |
