Front Door Stays. Question
Hi All,
The front doors stay fully open because as the Stay moves in the slide channel it pushes past a sprung steel rod that sits in a cutout on the channel. On mine I found, when adjusting the Stay Rod Bracket that the bolt holding the Rod bracket to the door frame was very loose. See picture.
This Bolt is easily adjusted/tightened. BUT is there a second bolt, as there is on the rear door, hidden behind the dashboard end piece Question
If there is, How do you tighten it without removing the dashboard Question and if so how do you remove the dashboard ends easily Question
My Land Rover is having the drive cable and spindle boxes changed on the windscreen wipers, under warranty, and I gather the dashboard has to be dismantled to do this so I would ask the Dealer to attend to these bolts while they are fixing the wipers if the dashboard has to be dismantled to get to these bolts.
Thanks for any advice.

Had mine tightened a couple of times. As far as I know the dash was not removed but it was tightened by inserting a ring spanner. Have tried it myself but it is really awkward as it is impossible to get decent turns with it.I just live with the doorstay as it is. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

you might be able to fit a ratchet ring spanner up there! BM52

The trim is soft and you can pull it away enough to tighten the bolts (2 of them) but they will come loose again. I actually removed one of them and put a split washer on it and now it does not come loose again.

You can also fit a small spacer (coin, washer) between the torsion bar and bracket to make it it firmer Puma 110" SW

Door stays? What you mean they actually keep the doors open? I thought mine didn't have any, except for stopping the door opening against the wing, so never questioned it.

I'll get the dealer to do it when they sort out the Windscreen wipers. They are working at the moment. Whistle Whistle LANDYWATCH
