Defender 6V kids electric ride on

Looking for help pls. All of a sudden defender 6V accelerator pedal stopped working. I noticed it was struggling in reverse but forward was fine. Now neither works. The defender charges and turns on fine it’s just the pedal. Any suggestions how to fix pls? My kids fav toy. Thanks a mil x

I expect it'll just be a case of taking it apart and having a look. It probably uses a simple track and resistor so it could be a case of cleaning the contacts but without seeing it, it's difficult to know. Darren

Thanks I took apart the accelerator pedal gave the connectors a clean. But I didn’t want to mess too much with it, not knowing what I’m doing in case I did more damage.
