Well after popping over to visit Danielle last year in Venice and meandering back across the Swiss mountains, this year sees us pottering over to Sweden in late September for our holiday.
The wagon is all ready to go, with its new rear bumper step, the 2 awnings and a couple of boxes of wine to keep my partner happy! We understand that free camping is a way of life in Sweden, so looking forward to finding some nice spots to sit and enjoy the views! We’ve got 18 days to play with - so looking forward to having a laid back trip! Plans are to cross from Harwich to the Hook of Holland, up into Germany, then Denmark and across the long bridge into Sweden, spending some time pottering around on our bicycles and possibly renting a couple of canoes for a play on the Gota Canal. Final agenda is still to be confirmed, but we're pretty loose and enjoy a bit of spontaneity. Anyone got any recommendations on where to go and what to see? Hello
I can recommend a visit to the kullaberg naturepark. It is the tip of the peninsula just north of Helsingborg. BR MOG |

The Scandinavian countries are wonderful places to visit.
The Swedish LR club have an English language forum HERE They are very helpful and if you ask for suggestions on there and give them an idea when you will be going I am sure they will help out. We have attended their annual meets and they are good fun and there is the Swedish Offroad tour but that is normally July/August time. Whilst wild camping is fine subject to a few commonsense rules it can be difficult to find places in some of the more wet wooded areas. Good luck and enjoy. Brendan |

everything you need to know here: http://www.wildernessroad.eu/
its the branches off the road that are the interesting bits, the road itself just joins up so you can do a big loop. a lot of it is in sami country which is fascinating, and lovely people too. in fact if you go, please bring me back a sami knife (about 6" blade if you can find one, they're beautiful) and I'll sort you out for it . if you don't go to that area then no worries |

Hi all
may thanks for your help! all info passed to my offical route planner for entering into her 'lets see if we can do it' system. If we get that far north Mike - I'll look out for a knife for you ...(but after 3 weeks of my partner having me in the wagon I'd better bury it out of the way or she may put it to good use! !) The route round Gothenburg was on the list to do as we may pick up a K2 and go for a paddle on the canal in that area., so thanks for the info Zagato thanks also for the info on the kullaberg naturepark Mog, it's being looked at as well and many thanks Brenden for the info on the landy group - will follow that up as well Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html Elgar -TDCI(Puma) 110XS Dormobile - now sold Devon & Cornwall 4x4 Response - DC126 |
