Evening all,
Could you confirm if I am right in thinking that the later style of defender front and second row doors (i.e. the one piece pressed ones) are galvanised as supplied beneath the black primer? Also, do the inner panels from the 02-05 doors fit without modification? Thanks in advance, Steve[/i] 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

They have a process applied called Zintec
"Zintec is designed to protect the mild steel during transport, storage, manufacturing and production processes" Can't really compare it to hot dip but every little helps |

I still spotted corrosion on the door skin of our my15 dcpu a week or two ago so I have to try my hand at warranty on a 5 and a half year old defender that should be fun! Ray

Hopefully you're ok as body has a 6yr anti corrosion warranty but not sure if it has to have LR service or for them to do the annual corrosion/bodywork check.
Mines in next week for windscreen corrosion and that's a May 2015 model but I've only had it serviced at LR + also do extended warranty on it as I worry about getting caught out or suprised by LR big bills !!!!! Gotta be worth a try either way tho !!!!! |

I got my rear crossmember repainted under warranty when mine was 5 years and 9 months old . That was the second time they did it uner. Would be far easier and cheaper to put enough paint on in the first place. They wouldn't do the rusty front bumper because " that is a bolt on part " ! ! |

“Bolt on part “ , can’t see how they can defend that logic. The doors and just about every other part on a defender is bolt on !

Agreed but they wouldn't budge.
" bolt on parts " covers bumpers, rear and side steps, side tubes and mirror arms. Pleased to get the crossmember and some bits around the windscreen corners done so just bought a galvanised black aftermarket bumper from Craddock and fitted it myself. |
