TDCI 2.4 Puma Oil Service Video
I made a short video while changing all the Oil on my TDCI and uploaded it to Youtube to help anyone that may be thinking about doing the same job. Very Happy

Fancy doing a video for the whole vehicle? Razz Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Excellent! Where did you get those ramps? They are the business. Was that a Rotty I saw? Love them, any pictures?

Thanks Mermoto I really enjoyed that. Definately better than Holby which is whats on telly at the moment !

I've done all those jobs (different technique for the G/box oil but who cares as long as you can get it in - its a pig)
except the fuel filter. I'm a bit scared of that one as I don't want any airlocks but seeing your vid I might have a go. Cheers

Cheers guys!

The ramps are brilliant, they are called display ramps like you see outside car dealers showrooms. They are pretty heavy duty too. A bit scary the first time driving up them though, but at two feet high they make getting under the Defender a lot easier. Looking forward to washing and re waxing underneath next spring using them. Should be much more fun. There are two sets of Display Ramps on Fleabay at the moment!

great video, thanks. did you just fill up the new fuel filter and fit or did you bleed any air out after fitting? BM52

Hi bm52, After lots of reading I filled the new filter to the very top and stood it upright in the box you can see in the video. Undid the old filter and carefully removed it and put the new filter in place without spilling any fuel. The amount of fuel that leaked on removing the old one was only a few drops. No bleeding was required. As I understand it the fuel flow is under such pressure as it passes along the injection rail, any bubbles may be sucked past the injectors and fed back to the tank. I suppose the odd air bubble that goes through the injectors is not going to have any effect on a running 2.4 litre engine. It didn't miss a beat.
