Managed to get a set of Optimill hinges fitted today. More for security than looks. Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.

Had the rear Optimill camera now for close to 4 months, eventually fitted it today. Main reason was to see the wall behind me when I park it in its normal spot.
Also as I had to take off one of the rear cross member plastic shields though it was a good change to swap to the Gwyn Lewis set that I brought. Now out of the protection set only have the rear mud flap brackets and the front of the rear tub protection, to fit, but that’s another weekend. Not added much to my list of things to do on the car recently. Though do have a pace automotive overlay loom so I can put in central locking and electric window in the future. Toying with the idea of ordering some Recaro cross cs seats before the prices go up, or have they already gone up. So just after Xmas I treated the defender to a set of new seats, at the time of ordering I knew it was a 8-12 week lead time, no probs.
Issue now is they were ready on Monday but there is a lorry drivers strike in Spain at present which means they are stuck somewhere on the back of a dhl lorry, probably parked up due to the strikes. So the constant refreshing of the dhl order tracking page really does not help. Looks like maybe next week now, if we manage to get the lorries moving again. Other bad points means the local supermarket shelves look like this Click image to enlarge Local small business still have food it’s only the large supermarket companies that look to of been impacted at present. Closing in on getting all the Gwyn Lewis underbody protection plastics fitted.
This weekend managed to get the rear mud flap holders fitted. Was fun trying to wedge a spanner on the inside of the truck close to the fold down seats to then do up the nut underneath, defiantly would of been quicker to fit with an assistant. Only set left now is the front of rear tub plastics, 4 bits of plastic and a few of the screws. Have previously fitted the rear cross member protection and the front mud flap with the front outrigger protection.
