Time gentlemen please at rockingham circuit
https://www.touringcartimes.com/2018/08/17...cuit-sale/ https://www.northantstelegraph.co.uk/news/...-1-8604007 Its a shame to see it go, it really did help tie up the btcc champion ship wise, as it used to be one of the 3 last major rounds of the btcc. It was sort of the last push for points for a lot of people to remain in the game. We were very lucky to still have croft due to the uproar of the site owner and his ex, which is the only local circuit i have. Wife and I went to the opening race meeting and have attended a few vintage events too.
It always gave a very 'amateur' feeling; never really got going. |

Just an update.
Was a good circuit to blast around in a Caterham, some very nice technical corners, and if you aced the chicane coming off the pit straight, it was very rewarding. https://cardealermagazine.co.uk/publish/ho...ite/204902 |

Me and the missus nearly had a big accident there, in the tunnel to the centre service area...
Story involves alcohol, a Chinese motorbike and a ‘let’s see how fast this goes’ attitude Shame, sad to see this. |

I'm sure I've posted this before but the tunnel to the infield used to have a sign on the way in along the lines of "exhaust appreciation zone".

Ah two years ago when i posted this, Looks like it seems to be doing well now, which is good. No way will this be come a race circuit again now. There was talk about the stands been very dangerous years ago and had to be condemned. There was just not the money coming into the circuit to fix this sadly. Such a shame, like i said rocky did tie up the btcc champion ship nicely ready for the final two meetings. Watched a few mg metro cup races on youtube battling it out there. Really good racing!
