What is EVHC?
My car is in the workshop for curing the rattles and rain water leak and to have the rear recovery eyes fitted. The dealership team have also carried out a “Health check” which I assume means that they plugged it into the diagnostic computer to check for logged warnings and alarms and update anything that the over the air updates hasn’t carried out. I got a very short video last night from the person carrying out the checks telling me everything was OK and nothing untoward found but attached to the text message and video was a written report with an amber spot against “Other Items” showing that EVHC was clean....... err what’s an EVHC? Only thing I can think of is ELECTRIC Vehicle Health Check............ Shocked

It *might* be an additional note, intended for internal use, to do with additional cleaning/sanitising of the kit used to take the video for the EVHC (the video/text message etc you get) due to CV19.

The VHC was the result of euro regs which meant that any car entering a dealers workshop would get a visual safety inspection. The reason for this was because there was an increasing number of car owners who would have minor servicing done, refuse more expensive work and end up blaming the dealer for their inability to get the job done elsewhere in the event of crash or incident. Hence the EU put the onus on the dealer to tell the customer in writing - hence the VHC which becAme the EVHC.

Any car going through the workshop, of any age will get a VHC - coded red amber or green. JB

Thanks, I wonder why a 3 month old car got an amber spot then.......... especially as everything appears to be healthy! Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Agree with Martin re sanitisation not required. They can’t green it if not done.

I see that they’re using pinnacle DMS (Dealer Management System) which as I recall isn’t easy to modify/bespoke and may have been a rapid push update during Covid. JB

I’ve just had a phone call from the service reception that additional parts are needed to complete the warranty work being done (resolving where rain water is entering the car, it’s coming out of the door casing and resolving rattles - I fixed the rattle window surround myself but there is still one from the B pillar or driver’s door lock area) so I might get a further health update when they have finished inside the car then - once they have sanitised it. I’ll update the post if I do get that sort of vehicle health check. I told them when I took the car in yesterday told them to keep it until everything is resolved so I’m not expecting it to be returned until the end of the week anyway! Just have to use my old 90 as the shopping trolley this week!

This happens every time it rains, and that’s with the door and window closed- I wonder if the part needed is a whole new door!

That door leak looks 'interesting'. I understand that quite a lot of water passes the window seals in most vehicles, and drains out of the holes at the base of the door. There is usually plastic sheeting inside the door to deflect everything downwards as opposed to inwards. Maybe this has either been misplaced or otherwise missed out in the production process.
