R380 gearbox oil to avoid crunch/grind
Hi all,

To those who changed form original LR MTF94 to ---> Difflock Evo1 or Fuchs Titan Sintofluid SAW 75W-80, did you notice any difference by making the 1st/2d and 2d/3rd changing smoother while changing up fast and high REV ?

Many thanks Smile

I got a crunch going from 1st-2nd and from 3rd-2nd if I wasn’t careful.
I put Redline synthetic manual transmission MTL 75w-80 GL4 in mine and it’s loads better.
Of course it might just be that it’s brand new oil in there now that’s made the difference 🤔🤔 2002 td5 90 county hardtop

Not something I would ever think of doing in a vehicle with an R380! Rolling with laughter

I also run Redline MTL. Excellent stuff. The trick to not crunching is slow and smooth shifts with a slight (momentary) pause in neutral between each gear change Good synth gear oil and do that and you won’t crunch em Thumbs Up 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)

Hi jay and Thanks for your speedy reply.
What was before Redline to see this difference ? LR MTF94 or ATF ?

Merci 😀
