Fitting a Safety Devices L236 to TD5 without Bulkhead
Chaps

Some help please. I recentley completed a V8 project and fitted a Safety Devices cage model L236. This was fine as the vehicle had a bulkhead and the fixing to the chassis are designed to work with this layout. However I am now converting a TD5 with the bulkhead removal fitted and Safety Devices do not currently make a roll cage to fit this vehicle.

Has anyone done this and if so how??

I would love to stick with a Saftey Devices cage if possible.

I’d suggest you speak to Mike at Blackbird Industries (Google or FB is your friend...) as they have done some cracking work with roll cages etc.

Tell Mike that ‘Rob sent you...’

I know that they are flat out busy at the moment but he can almost certainly create something in CAD, then in the real world and he’s a very clever chap...

He’s actually the brains behind the Works V8 but, more importantly (and as a vested interest) is our Daughter’s partner...

Pretty sure they can help!

I’ve spoken to Safety Devices about this as I was looking to do something similar. As you say they don’t make one that fits at the moment - guess because the bulkhead bar fits where the cage would so the two would need to be joined somehow? They did tell me they have one in the pipeline though and are looking for a suitable vehicle to trial it on...?
