Suggestions for a 3.9 Overhaul/major service
Looking for some advice as ever.
My 3.9 ex RR engine has been in my 90 now for 16 years I think and had a few services in that time. Its standard apart from a mild cam (Lund??) and K&N filter. It probably does less than 3000 miles a year and was off the road for a few years.
Anyway its feeling a little tired and its not have a lot of love from me. I use it for rally marshaling so gets some abuse when in the forest.

I'm wondering about getting it overhauled by someone who knows what they are doing. I don't really want to take it out so planning on driving it to someone and getting them to do the work.
I'm not sure how far to go, I wasn't thinking total disassembly but what is the other option and what should be looked at, replaced or done if there is the opportunity??? 1984 90 V8 puma want to be.

Well not a million miles away from you is ACR, Roland in Broughton, who supplied me a turn-key built 4.6.

They know their stuff and do take in whole vehicles to do the work.

Thanks Greeni, yeah I know of ACR, they have been around for years and think are down Queensferry way. Could be one option but a very quick look at their prices means they might be at the top of the options list.
I'll give them a call though. 1984 90 V8 puma want to be.
