Looking at a 110
I'm interested in a 110 local to me. It is on Autotrader: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ad...l_a_friend

The odd thing is the guy wants me to meet him at a pub, which may be completely innocent / convenient. I think it is a bit heavy on the price side. The MOT history looks ok.

Anything jump out?

Thanks,

I not sure if that looks genuine or not but don’t forget that one will have the expensive road tax to pay.

No sidesteps or rear mud flaps.
Chassis behind rear wheel arch stating to look a bit rust spotted so will need treating and dinitrol applied but I’m sure you have probably noticed all this already.

Sounds a bit iffy to me. I have never had a problem with someone coming to my house to buy a car.
I can understand privacy, but his name and address are going to be on the V5.
Unless, of course, they are not the same !!!
Be a bit careful here, it is a lot of money to pay for a ringer or something that will not be quite right. Whistle 1983 Series 3 Pick up in Marine Blue

Thing is, maybe he is concerned you are a potential fake buyer and may come back to nick it from his house.... theres two ways of seeing it!

I went and had a look. It appeared genuine to me. The guy owned the pub so that explained the meeting place. The 110 was incredibly clean and shiny.....but:

Paint bubble all around the windscreen and window blocks. It has more than bubbled, it has taken hold. Ball ache of a job to do properly.

All tyres are perished on the sidewalls and have minimal tread, 5 new ones needed.

He took the side runners off because he didn't like them, but as he was only 5ft not much I found it hard to fathom. New side steps / runners required.

The rear cross member has been blown over, but looking from the underside the leading edges were all bulging with rust.

The chassis looked sound but tatty, nothing horrendous but a good few days with Zagato to sort out!

He insisted on telling me how special it was because it had full sound deadening and a lighter clutch. He also told me that the chassis didn't need anything doing to it, whilst I was looking at the chassis which clearly needed a good deal of tlc.

So, despite the fact it was very shiny, I thanked him for his time and walked away.

I'll keep looking.

Sounds like you made the right decision. There will always be another one.
