There isn't any paint colour information in a VIN code

A quick trawl through this page suggests that Rutland was the only non-metallic red in use in 1999:

Correct i never said it Did. This site will give you your build, essentially what your vehicle left the factory with including paint codes.

If you have an old computer so no 64 bit. You can download a microcat landrover cd. These have a date. You should then set the date the same as that file i.e. March 2010.
If you then put in your vin you can see how it left Landrover. There is also the color and much more specs about your land Rover. However I am not sure from what date the vins are in there. For sure from 2003 but I don't know if 1999 was included. Thank you. That wasn't clear from your original post but that is a useful tool. For my vehicle, it revealed more than I could find on Topix, which was a surprise. That is indeed a good site. However: Front Cup Holder - 2 front cup holders [088BB]. I should have 2 front cupholders. I will have a look but as I don't know where they should be. I am not sure if a pick-up is big enough to have 2 cupholders.
