Mine has it regardless but one advantage of it NOT being included is that it means that anything in the rear needs the door to be physically unlocked to access which on a previous car was very handy when carrying valuables......
It also applies to many guys on here who shoot and obviously carry their weapons / ammo I should think |

Yes, that was certainly One of the reasons given for not having it on the other forum I mentioned.
I am swaying toward that myself but haven’t quite decided yet. |

You could install hidden switches to disable rear CDL motor and door switch. Maybe disabling the door switch may even be enough, depending on what you want to achieve.
I did it for the rear switch to not trigger the alarm on the rear while CDL+alarm is engaged. Useful when leaving the camper at night without waking anyone (unlock from inside). Also used to load goods on supermarket car parks with suspicious figures lurking around... (unlock CDL, flick switch, lock CDL, unlock rear with key). |

Now, I quite like that. If you get time perhaps you could pm me on how you achieved that please.

Wouldn't it be better to just have valuables in a secure box of some sort? I'm pretty sure weapons need to be in a locked box when in the rear (I could be wrong though). |

well I don't shoot so has never bothered me and with our dogs I need the lower load height rather than having a "secure" drawer making it wheel arch height.........
I also now have a rear dog guard / door so opening the rear door doesn't instantly give direct access |

It probably wouldn't be too difficult to modify it so that it always locks from CDL but doesn't unlock from the CDL, with a button to unlock.

Thanks Gents
I think the full CDL option is the one I will go for and modify to my requirements as some have suggested. Thanks for the help |
