Optimill window blocks
So got the usual paint bubbling corrosion on the window blocks ... Crying or Very sad spoke to the land rover dealer who now state these and the wing mirror arms are not bodywork but accessories so are not covered any longer...obviously when challenged as at time of purchase they were they offered to fit any replacements FOC but advised it costs more to respray than get new... so the search began....
I ended up going with the Optimill ones and on checking the YouTube bible realised they are bloody simple to fit yourself...so for anyone else who hasn’t got a clue give it a go...

Old ones unbolt from inside the door....10mm socket I think.. then clean up the exterior a bit then bolt new ones on...done...was worried the bolts that were in place would be rusted but they were immaculate (5 years old) Wink They come with new gaskets that are self adhesive one side...

Like the look....very simple to fit... next step will be the matching Optimill security bonnet hinges if anyone has any tips... Rolling Eyes Proud to own 110XS TDCi SW..previously 90XS Td5 SW

Window blocks and wing mirror arms are accessories. I’d like to see you pass an mot with either missing!! LR dealers really are atrocious.

Accessories?!!!! I would be apoplectic with rage if they had said that to me. I think that might take extracting the urine to new levels, even for a car dealership. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

At least you won't be doing the job again a year later, like I had to when the approved body shop did mine.

If I were to start again, I'd just replace the originals on the day of purchase rather than wasting time talking to the dealer.

Do they have a slightly larger footprint at the top? It looks like they pinch down on the windscreen rubber?

My local dealer changed and sprayed my window blocks just over a year ago under warranty as paint was bubbling.so can’t understand why yours said no.

It looks like you've got a bit of corrosion by the nearside windscreen block on the bulkhead. If it is I would sort it out now. Thumbs Up
