2002 Defender 90 2.5 TD CSW Zambezi Silver

LED Lights and Trailer Dash Indicator

I have just recently swapped all of my Defender lights over to Bearmach LED lights (see my other post if you want pictures) apart from headlights and reverse lights.

Everything seems to be working fine and indicators flash correctly.

But, I have hooked up the trailer for the first time this morning and unfortunately the trailer indicator light on the dash is not working.

All the lights on the Defender and the incandescent bulbs on the trailer appear to work correctly.

Reading other posts, suggest that this combination should work.

So, any suggestions of what to try?

Did you fit and adjustable relay when you fitted the led lights? 2015 HT XS 90
2008 SVX 90

The lights came with an LED relay, but not an adjustable one.

Just took the old one out and plugged in the new one.

As Sulisuli says fit an adjustable relay. I had exactly the same problem as you. I fitted LED indicators to the Defender and worked perfectly OK with the original relay so didn't think I needed to fit the adjustable one that was supplied with the lamps. Only when I connected my horse trailer did I have a problem. Fitted the Wipac adjustable relay, a quick twiddle and all was well. Defender 90XS SW
