Regarding tyres there was a video linked to on LR4x4 that indicated 35" tyres were possible. If I remember correctly that is. Ed

hey
Congratulations - get a thread going with some photos of your car and the spec. And give us some feedback on how you are getting on with it. |

In the UK LR uses any excuse it can to decline a warranty claim, you really have to fight hard sometimes and also sometimes you have to be smart not to drive into the dealership with something very non-standard like non-OEM wheels and bigger tyres that might cause extra wear and tear........... They have too many competitors in the USA to be upsetting Customers over warranty claims, it’s been hard work selling premium priced vehicles with a dire reliability reputation Stateside Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Wheel Arch protection is dealer fitted, so your choice if you want to take a drill to your nice shiney 110.. or you can leave it to the local dealer and make it their risk P300 or P400? and what size wheels are you thinking in regard to bigger tyres? Tuff Ant are looking at bringing out an 18" steel and alloy wheels which will fit the larger brake caliper Defenders such as the P400, should give you more option on the tyre sizes within reason.. maybe limited to the 32" total diameter though.. In Australia we also get to play with aftermarket wheels and tyres, from the likes of Tuff Ant, Compomotive and Moab, does not seem to faze the dealers here from a warranty perspective.. yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |

Hi. I have my own question. If the New Defender is out and about now (not in Australia), why can't I find a comparison review yet? When do the 4x4 reviewers get hold of one and go bush with a 200 Series, Jimny, Wrangler, etc for a genuine comparison test?

Bruce, vehicles have only started to be delivered to the public in the last week or so, much of the press and demo
vehicles were donated to the red cross during lockdown. No doubt some will be looking at that very challenge i suspect in the very near future as more vehicles get released (factory only reopened mid May ish to enable production to restart) p.s. Deliveries for Oz are looking around end August/September time frame yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |

Fair enough. I guess I was expecting one of the big companies like Top Gear etc. with deep pockets to be one of the first customers. Surely it would have been worth big money to publish the world's fist comparison test. Cheers, Bruce

Bruce, there are a number of videos including top gears on their Namibia launch trip.. not sure if you have had a look at those
no comparisons vs other platforms mind you https://www.topgear.com/videos/adventures/...ss-namibia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNkb3hAF9R4 the one from Expedition portal below is better balanced, rather than just pure LR marketing splurb, plus he does a follow up podcast where he compares it with other vehicles he has overlanded in places https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dgx_RDTLpwQ yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |
