On a walk through my little village this afternoon I spotted my first new defender on a test run with trade plates on it. It was a LHD 110. I said to my boys “ look the new defender” both the 5yr old and the 7yr old looked at me and said “don’t be silly daddy that’s not a defender it doesn’t look like yours” I think they summed it up perfectly Andy

I don't really have an issue with it as a new SUV.....
I do think the MAIN issue is that it maybe should have been called something different? such as Urban - Rover Price wise once you start ticking anything it's in New Disco , Evolve, Range Rover Sport money so its priced completely different to the original. So maybe the name needed to fit into the are in the range rather than use the old Icon name we drive. I've been on the site to configure a few times and the model I chose (110 XS type spec with some goodies ranged from £63,000 to over £75,000) The clip I watched of the guy In Jersey with a rather nice defender without the roof was quite good. I can see in a few years it will be something we may consider However I think a FFRR a couple of years old will be higher up my list, either way I will keep my others Its different, it was always going to be, the mini, fiat 500, Porsche 911 if you put each one near their new model that are quite different but also similar. In the mean time I'm more than happy in my old model(s) |
