margins on tyres - almost nothing. overcrowded market, v competitive.
you laughed at dinitrol-ing etc, but why not? clearly you spent time on your own vehicle, and if customers thought you would give theirs the same attention then I'm sure you could sell that (but you'd have to do it quicker or you'd be losing money ![]() |

Very hard work and takes a long time to get established, it's a dirty, filthy, back breaking job. I am looking into another outlet myself, must be mad. Good luck in whatever you decide to have a go at mate. Andy. www.ajstyres.co.uk 01737 241370 Junction 8 M25 Surrey. |

"It's a DIRTY, FILTHY..." Andy, that's put the brakes on that one for me. What about this http://uk.businessesforsale.com/uk/Contrac...-Sale.aspx
![]() Well there is time look into ideas, I have to get the current house sorted first and split one of the bedrooms in two to make another 50K on it ![]() Even if I end up going down there just busking, it's got to be worth it to move 300 miles away from the mother in law ![]() ![]() |

There is a good one i have used a fair few times down near Falmouth. They are well established, but dont think there are any in Truro. If you want the recommendation let me know. Current:D4 HSE Gone: BMW Z4MC Gone: Defender TD5 90 CSW Previous: Discovery TD5 ES (Gone) |

Rob - the one in Penryn?
I got the impression they are more into older Landies? I may be wrong though. A bit of competition wouldn't hurt though. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |

I know the one you are thinking of i think, but i wasnt thinkinh of that one. I was thinking of the one down by Asda in Falmouth, Steve Toyer LR. I have used them in the past, when im not in Surrey. They have always been very good. They seem to do all ages, i have seen many D3s, TD5s, TDCis etc in there. I found them much better than Riders! After seeing the effort and detail you've put into your 110 I'd be more than willing to pay for your services for Big Black... Think I'd even be willing to travel to Cornwall for your services too, not been down there for many years! |

Thanks Warren, I have had a few pm's asking me to do the work. There wouldn't be enough work to make it full time though! Would be OK along side a related business...
Re-tyre places we always use the one in Truro near the main roundabout. We get a lot of things bought or done down there as it's so much cheaper ![]() |

That's a hell of a trek for some tyres!
We live very near there - turn left past Radio Cornwall, head past the pikey housing estate, into the bit that looks like rural France (alongside the river) and we're very near there. Not a bad place to live. Rob - I shall do some more investigating! What we DO need down here is a decent, reliable detailer. I have called many - all have been cack and I've been let down twice. The only one that seems to be any good is booked up for months. A good wheel refurber would also be ideal - there's a brilliant one in Wadebridge (did my BM wheels) but it's a bit far from here and dropping and picking up the car is a PITA. Hey I'd even consider chipping into a good proposition like that. Could do with a bit of diversification. Plenty of money down here if you know where to look (I must add that I do not count myself into that statement!!) ![]() |
