United Kingdom 2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Java Black
Prop Shaft UJ
So after a couple of weeks of an increasingly annoying squeak that got higher and lower with engine revs, took my 2009 90XS to the dealers where apparently the UJ had worn away to basically nothing and possibly it had worn at the prop shaft as well. (This being barely a month or two after 24k service).

UJ now replaced but I am to return again after a couple of thousand miles to see if anything was permanently damaged.

I am aware of the thread that is very similar to this but mine hasn't had any lifts or anything, and I was wondering if this is a common thing? And also how might I have had this happen to me?

If it was the transfer end of the front prop this is quite common as some mechanics can't be bothered to fight with the exhaust ect to get the grease gun on to the joint, mine went the other week did it myself, but i had a horrid vibration at 50-70 mph If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.
