Does anyone have suggestions for under bonnet lights? I'm thinking when I open the bonnet the lights will come on. Just wondering if anyone who has done this would share a pic or two?
Also I'd welcome suggestions to where I could pick up the power and where to place a switch. There may be a factory position I could use? Thanks in advance. Mike Hard Top 90 TD5 2001 Ford 100e 1959 www.youtube.com/mikemakesit |

I think you can pick 12v ignition live from the heater box.
I have a LED strip under the bonnet but I preferred to run that from a switch in the cab rather than automatic. Insta: @thebenjordan4x4 |

Pick up any 12V source under the hood (Yea I am not British). I chose to switch mine With a rocker and marked its location... You could easily use a switch activated by opening the hood. LED all weather cabinet light I had laying around my shop and hardwired it. Its been mounted for several years with no issues.

Hi MC
I know this is a Jeep channel but it might give you some ideas. The under bonnet install is halfway along the video Good luck &t=75s |

Head torch for me if it's dark and I've got to faff about under there. At least you can get light to where you actully want it, instead of just shadows.

To keep it Land Roverish how about a couple of these. https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-DRC2878 My RR classic had one of these fitted as standard but I upgraded it to three all off a plunger switch. The original used the alarm plunger switch. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |
