Hi all,
I am looking for a mug to go into the LR cup holder on the cubby. What are you guys using? I would like something that is wide enough to be cleaned properly by hand, rather than just a bottle brush on a stick. It needs to keep tea warm for an hour and have a lid that allows drinking whilst on the move. I use a Contigo after getting a recommendation, which is very good.
Although the mechanism at the top takes up quite a bit of drink volume for it's size, so if I bought again I would go larger. Just looked at their website http://www.mycontigo.com/en/thermal-mugs to check the size, and they don't do my model any more, so don't know how good the newer ones are. |

Contigo Byron! Best mug ever....but the outside paint ist rubbish. I sanded it down and used RAPTOR on it. Have it in use daily. WANTED:

Contigo thermal mugs!
http://www.mycontigo.com/en/thermal-mugs I've been through maybe a dozen different thermal mugs over the years looking for one that actually keeps the contents warm and spill-proof (many hours stood on the back of a boat and long car journeys). These keep my coffee hot for two hours and drinkable for four, and to top it off, you can turn it upside down and it won't spill. I've got a stainless steel one that's battered and bruised and still works great. As with all plastics, the lid can pickup flavours (including soap  ) but soaking it in diluted white vinegar overnight removes this (I'm now a lot more careful not to leave it in the sink). Not an owner... yet! |

Contigo seem to be a favourite, and they have a couple of good designs. It would appear that if you stick to stainless rather than painted , it can all go in the dishwasher. That's definitely a plus. |

Sorry to dig an old thread up but I'm in need of a new mug. My last one died a death and I've put off replacing it.
So all those that made comments on here, Do you still stand by them? Are the mugs you have still performing well? Any brands to avoid or brands that work well. Cost isn't really an issue, within reason. I still stand (or sit) by my Camelback cup. Keeps a brew hot for a long while. Dropped it a few times and still good to rock.

I’ve had loads over the years, they’ve all died for one reason or other- not durable enough or too hard to clean being the most likely reason.
I now use bottles and cups from Klean Kanteen. Their stuff is fantastic, it’s so well made yet dead simple too - I’ve had zero failures and I’ve had an insulated cup from them for easily 4years now. Totally bullet proof. 2014 Keswick Utility 2.2 |
