Can someone confirm if a 2002 TD5 Station Wagon has a steering wheel with 36 splines?
In addition anyone know where I can get a new one and not for silly money? |

Thanks for the confirmation that the spline count is correct. If anyone had a spare steering wheel in a good condition I would be really interested.

You aught to be careful and just count the splines. LR used what ever was in the parts bin. Just takw the nut off and count them to be safe. 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)

As above, the safe way is to count them.

Hello ijefferyes
Should be 36 but as advised wheel off and count, I know two owners that have different than the charts tell you, both wanted a new steering wheel fitted with a quick release boss (of which i'm a big fan) so to be sure count them up... Good Luck SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |

You don’t need to take the wheel off, just the nut and washer. There is a large difference in the number, so just go round with a pointer, if you are 1 or 2 out it won’t matter if that makes sense. |

I have a spare. I’ll dig it out tomorrow. Had only covered 40k before I took it off so should be reasonable

@isacs if you can pm me how much you want for it and maybe some pictures once you have dug it out, that would be great!

Right, took nut off and counted the splines and it is definitely a 36 spline wheel.
So, now just to find a replacement! |
