There is a void between the rear footwell and the battery box. You could drill right through and run the cable that way but it would seem a bit of a messy route with some tight bends needed in the cable.
Be aware that the main positive feed cable and the cables for the second row door switches and central locking run through that void. Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

There is a gap between the back of the battery box and the second row footwell that is open to the elements from beneath.

Thanks chaps - so what's a good route staying inside the cab from battery box to drivers seat box?

The usual route is across the back of the seats:
Click image to enlarge I bought a kit to do this, although I wouldn't particularly recommend it. The fuse box under the drivers seat has two spare pre tapped holes, M5 or M6 , on the positive connection for the fuse box. If you lift the cover off the fuse box and look at the rear nearside corner you should see were the main feed comes in to the box, there is space to get at least two other cables in. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

Cheers both will have a look. On the link posted by LanRoverAnorak there is an alternative suggested which is across the front of the first row of seats - will have a look at all options but I think because of the design of my dual battery set-up I will have to go round the back of the seats

Is this to get a power supply to the box under the drivers seat. No need, have a look at the thread from when I did it:
https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic70342.html No need to drill any holes. There was plenty of additional slack in switched wired feed to just crimp a wire off that then went from the top of gearbox into the box under seat through the existing rubber grommet. It was a really easy job an did not require the loom extension. To protect the extension wire I used a length of 240 volt mains wire, stripped out the wires to leave just the rubber sheath as a conduit. |

It's more likely that the OP wants to do it in order to mitigate the extremely well-known security vulnerability in this area. That is the usual reason for this modification.

^^^ this and my auxiliary fuse-box for fridge, work light etc will be in the driver seat box.
Voltage sensing relay for dual battery install will be in the under cubby safe. I have the original VArta that came with my Puma and a Numax CXV30HMF Sealed Leisure Battery 12V 105Ah in the battery box so very limited space left there for the relay |

That was me Here is where I posted the pics so you can see if it is likely to suit or not..... probably more likely not with your dual batteries though. |

Thanks Roger.
My planned set up - so far batteries are in and main one is connected so the truck runs. Aux yet to be connectoed. Left box is battery box. Centre is under cubby safe (Mud) and right is driver seat box. Click image to enlargeDual Battery Sys by [/img] |

I ran mine around the front fo the seat box without the need to but any auxiliary kit/cable and the original cable was long enough.

Please place the 100A fuses close(r) to the battery. They're protecting the cables. And while you're at it, you might want to add a fuse to the original cable for the same reason (it's *still* on my to do list... ) |

Yes, plan to move all fuses as close to battery clamps as possible.
Actually had a look at the Littelfuse battery clamp with three stud busbar incorporated. You can get tiny fuses that go over the stud but works out quite expensive. Link below. https://m.littelfuse.com/~/media/commercia...holder.pdf |
