td5 wheel lock up
Hi I thought I might pick a few brains to see if I can sort my problem. During a recent trip I stopped to take a photo and when I went to take off the t/c light came on and the r/hand front wheel locked up. Iaccelerated to 30kph and the light went out and the wheel freed up. This happened aech time I had to stop. Extensive 100kph driving did not even warm up the caliper.I disconnected the abs fusable link but nothing changed. As I was interstate I took it to a dealer who reset the codes and told me it was due to worn rear discs and pads, I had new discs and pads to fit as I had checked them before the trip. The only visible problem is a leak from the front diff drive flange seal which was not present before. Its a 2002 110 with 134,000k's Thanks for any help.

Thanks I'll check it out . The r/hand bearing seems ok. It has been suggested that the wear of the rear pads has caused a fault code to develop disengaging it and the problem is with the left front and the system is trying to compensate by applying the front right! Maybe your bearing problem is on the left side. It does seem strange that completely isolating the abs system did not stop the binding though. I'll check it out and post any findings for future ref. Thanks

brake lock up
Hi just aquick note re earlier post. I have replaced rotors padsseals etc front and rear brake locking has gone. The only prob I could see was that the champher on the front pads were all mixed up(installed by lr dealer previous owner). Ken from Melb suggested that this could have caused pistons to tilt in the caliper bores as the pads wore. He may have been right Worth considering if you have similar prob. Steve P
