Wales 2007 Defender 90 Other CSW Trident Green
Diesel at £1.05 litre
Filled up today at Sainsbury's at £1.05 litre last time I filled the tank it was £1.39, Also usually there are about twenty cars in line at the pumps today only 1

Reading a report from the AA today who say fuel will probably drop below the £1.00 a litre mark over the next few weeks if the lockdown persists For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Typical when no body can use it.

Bit like the bank manager and the umbrella joke...

Bet it goes up when lockdown is over...

Its not really the lockdown but the fact that Russi decided to try and take on Saudi ovver supply at which point the Saudi's just slaughtered the price as they have the cheapest / largest supply I believe

Started before any lockdown

They've all agreed to cut oil production by 10% to try and stabilise the price, so it may not drop much more.

It will no doubt go up, but I doubt as high as it was for a long time.

Hopefully, it might stay down more like the US in the long run, then you'll see the economy boom. Cool ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

More to the pity sadly. Around this way they shelved the stupid diesel car charging stuff so needs must currently.
All efforts must be put into business and getting the economy ship shape asap when possible.

Diesels aren't luxuries, they're nessecities and for most workhorses that are needed.
A good thing, in difficult times.

Cheaper diesel isn't any use to me at the moment anyway, and it doesn't keep so only useful to key workers but that's still a good thing. How long can you store it in good condition? ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Apparently it’s the Russians who have dropped the price. They walked out of a meeting with opec and slashed it to $20 a barrel. They have put away $150 billlion to do this as they can only produce it for $40 a barrel and the Saudis $60 a barrel. Something to do with Syria And future power apparently.

For many years Russia has been selling oil below the price of otheR producers because they don’t need the high price they need the hard currency as it has to be paid for in US$ - on the ship we used to go in ballast from Bremerhaven to St Petersburg and back purely to buy cheap fuel, Maersk’s ships on the Med Trades used to go up into the Black Sea just to bunker and on the China /Japan/Korea services they used to go up to Vladivostok because the fuel was so cheap. It paid off when you are bunkering 12,000 tonnes at a time per containership.
Recently a lot of the bigger container ships have been stuck in China where they were having exhaust gas scrubbers fitted to comply with the Jan 1st 2020 MARPOL rules - stuck because first there was Chinese New Year which is a mega “bank holiday” in Asia and then while labour was travelling they had their lockdown and travel was stopped so work in the ship yards all ground to a halt. Now that the price of oil has fallen so far and even 0.1 and 0.05% Sulpher content oil prices are very low now those ships are not using higher sulpher content fuel, they are burning the previously very expensive 0.1% as day to day fuel and bypassing the scrubbers that increase fuel consumption when in use! So....... th remaining sulphuric acid goes up the funnel into the atmosphere instead of through the scrubber and out over the ship’s side into the ocean to kill the fishes instead of humans! Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

I work in the oil and gas industry and have been since 2012. I’m mostly worried about low fuel prices because that means that people in the industry may lose their jobs, and even entire businesses can go into administration. This happened 4-6 years ago when the price of a barrel of oil dropped to where we’re seeing it today. A LOT of people lost their jobs.

The companies that managed to continue operating had to significantly lower their overheads. This has somewhat stood us in good stead for what we’re experiencing now and so not so many people are finding themselves unemployed directly because of it (at least from wheat I’ve seen).

Now, I know low prices is great when you’re at the pump - and even I do quite like the travel and leisure opportunities low fuel prices can bring - but there’s always that thought in the back of my mind that low prices = lost jobs

Don’t get me wrong; I don’t want to see massively high prices at the pump because that can have a detrimental effect on low-income families as well as small, medium and large businesses, but there needs to be a fine balance. Not too low but also not too high.

For us in the U.K., I’m happiest when it’s around £1.20ish for petrol and what - £1.24 for diesel.

I know I’ll be in the vocal minority here but that’s okay.
