Hand Brake Shoes?...anyone done?
Ok..
Mines a 2010 90, 2.4.
Before lockdown I brought Hand Brake shoes and springs/fixing kit

Today I thought I’d get it done.
Rear end up
Rear prop off
Fixing screw out....all good👍

But ...when I try to pull Hand brake drum back there is insufficient clearance due to mid box on exhaust ???
(Which I do not feel like dropping right now )
Feels like I could force drum off...but would be a nightmare to “force” back on

Anybody any experience with this?
Cheers

Split the exhaust at the joint just in front of the silencer. This will allow enough room to pull it out the way enough to get it off. Hold my beer and watch this!

Has the hand brake ever been set too close and been binding?

I've never even thought about changing a set!

They are not an item usually changed due to wear, more likely contamination.

Can you not undo the exhaust rubbers to let it drop enough? If not split as above. Cheers
