I appreciate that it's no help whatsoever in the present circumstances, but I got fed up of rusty bumpers and bought a galvanised one for less that £60 from Paddocks. Paint once and forget. Darren

Ahh now i didn't think of that one
Im on my 3rd bumper, the last one is from flatdog and in fairness lasted longer than the land rover efforts, just needs a good tidy up. 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8 2010 110 XS Utility 2.4TDCI 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 (gone) 2007 Discovery HSE TDV6 (gone) 1993 110 csw 200 tdi (gone) 1994 90 HT 300 tdi (gone) 1994 discovery 300tdi (gone) 90 hybrid 3.5 v8 (gone) Range rover bobtail 3.5 v8 (gone) |

I used truck bed liner aerosol and it has worked superbly. Very tough to stop damage by stone chips etc. Give a Matt black fine textured finish which really suits the bumper.

excuse my complete ignorance of all things painting related , quite keen on the upol raptor liner for my bumper and side steps, which are quite rusty - did you use something like the raptor anti-corrosive epoxy primer first?

I didn’t use Raptor just some generic bed liner aerosol from eBay, but it has worked very well. I think the 2k raptor is probably even better.
I etch primer first, on to a galvanised bumper. |

I had mine shot blasted and power coated with a zinc primer as well, 6 years on still no rust. Did cost me £150 though. 2008 Defender 110 XS CSW

I spoke to Craig at Buzzweld this week and the following day an order landed on the door step
so i went straight to it and stripped the bumper back and added 3 coats of the rust encapsulater and today a few coats of the FX1 smooth liner as a top coat i will let you know how i get on Thanks for the replays chaps 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8 2010 110 XS Utility 2.4TDCI 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 (gone) 2007 Discovery HSE TDV6 (gone) 1993 110 csw 200 tdi (gone) 1994 90 HT 300 tdi (gone) 1994 discovery 300tdi (gone) 90 hybrid 3.5 v8 (gone) Range rover bobtail 3.5 v8 (gone) |
