Routing dash cam cable.
I have a 2015 2.2 Puma and for some time I have had the dash cam mounted at the bottom of the windscreen as that was the easiest place to put it.
I would now like to mount it near the rear view mirror.
The cover of the A post seems a likely place to hide the vertical part of the wire but when I get to the headlining
it doesn't want to budge despite loosening the visor screws.
Is there a way of poking the wire behind the headlining without major surgery?
Thanks for looking at my question. 2015 90 XS Station Wagon Puma 2.2

I've just used a little adhesive on mine and glued the cable between the headlining and the windscreen rubber.

Wasnt the solution I originally wanted but you don't notice it once its done. Black headlining mind 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone

You might find taking out the interior light will allow you better access with head lining left in situ.
Also possibly consider the Mud UK extended A pillar trims, these are brilliant IF you happened to need them. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

I routed my cable in the same place as you want yours, if you have a plastic trim tool or a small flat blade screwdriver with electrical tape over the blade to allow it to slide easily with a thin edge you can get it in the between the headlining and the rubber seal and slide it along gently and just ease the cable in as you go. It took me sometime just being patient with it. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

If you loosen the sun visor screws and the screws which hold the mirror mounting plate you will be able to ease the front of the headlining down to run cables along. Just make sure you tuck it back in behind the windscreen seal before you tighten it all back up again yo avoid straining the headlining.

Thanks for all the suggestions, much appreciated. I'll give it a go tomorrow. After all anything is better than insulating tape which doesn't stick. 2015 90 XS Station Wagon Puma 2.2

I powered mine via the 12v to the interior light I fitted a device inline which turns the power off to the camera when the voltage drops to 10v, I made a small notch in the light and fed the cable along the rear view mirror.
