Mine is also loose and is it held on by one or two bolts? What spanner size are the bolt/s? 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

Also might need to check this. I noticed that the rear anti roll bar (Puma 110) had a mark in it on the driver's side. It was caused by the anti roll bar hitting off the edge of the fuel tank guard. I just cut a few millimetres off the offending edge of the tank guard with a junior hacksaw. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

The damge that could occur if that red lifting eye flew off when lifting the engine out would be scarey... i take it LR know to check this when working on them? 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

Mine chafed a hole in the wiring loom on saturday, but it's not loose. The engine management fuse blew and we were stranded for an hour and a half.

I would think the safest bet would be to remove it altogether. Steve.

Glad someone else asked for a photo, was thinking I must be totally stupid - seems I also don't have one, nor indeed does it look like there ever has been one since it left factory as no marks on nearby cables etc ?
is it possible they are actually meant to be removed before leaving the factory, the fact they are painted bright red makes me wonder Shocked

Following my comments above I've just gone out and unbolted and removed mine to uncover witness marks both on the lifting eye and loom conduit Rolling Eyes I've replaced the bolts using a bit of Loctite and thrown the eye in the cubby box.

For those who prefer to polish rather than work on their vehicle or who are otherwise challenged in the spanner department I reckon some decent insulating tape or similar wound around the loom conduit would provide a bit of protection from chaffing. Steve.

I can only deduce that this must have been deleted from recent models, as there isn't one one mine and no evidence that there was ever one fitted. Another thought, I suppose that maybe they're meant to be removed after fitting in the factory which is why they're painted red to make them easy to spot by quality control.
