2.4 puma woes
One of my lads broke down this afternoon in our 2.4 puma. Apparently def started to loose power climbing a hill towing a heavy trailer. The driver pulled into a lay-by in second gear, dipped the clutch and the engine revs flew up to rev limiter. He switched off engine and it continued to run at full chat, Fortunately he acted quickly and stalled it in gear.
Popped the bonnet and a fair bit of oil around the engine, engine bay and some on the deck.
He didn’t restart it
Is this likely to be hot oil being sucked through the turbo?

Whats oil level on dipstick like and what does it smell of?
Also worth putting a spot of the oil onto a sheet of paper, if you get a halo around prob diesel dilution of the oil, leading to raised oil level.
Well it is that on TD5's

Hard the same symptoms with my ex 300Tdi, on both occasions it was the head joint that had failed. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.
