Any fuel in the tank Jim?
Did you drive it home or was it transported? Did it start up ok for you before you did the deal? Separate immobiliserf fob? Have you tried both LR fobs? |

That must be so massively frustrating.
Have you tried charging the battery? I think there's a procedure in the handbook to follow when changing fob batteries; might be worth checking those instructions. (The inertia switch might be worth checking given the symptoms but I would have thought unlikely to be that unless its had a bump.) |

The faint whistle may be the EGR ... Seems more like a problem related to starting a cold engine : are the glow plugs clean ? You could monitor the fuel pressure in the common rail, if the high pressure had been damaged ... it's so frustrating anyway |

Check the grounds are good, and battery voltage is acceptable. (Especially battery negative to Gearbox / Transfer box.)
Disconnect the battery, and touch the two DISCONNECTED terminals together. Then reconnect. (Negative should be removed first when disconnecting and fitted last when reconnecting.) Follow the manual for details of the BBUS before you disconnect the battery if fitted. Once connected all back up, press the fob lock or unlock multiple times rapidly until the red dash led flashes rapidly on the dash and then everything is back to normal. You may want to check Relays are secure in the Seatbox too. Beyond this further investigation might be required.

Hi, yep I have charged the main battery and it was filled with fuel. The alarm seems to be working ok. I.e., Doors lock and unlock the lights on the dash seem to do what they are supposed to. My gut is telling me itโs a fuel issue. I bled the fuel filter in the wheel arch a little but the fuel seems clean. I am stumpted.

Ok so i checked the fuel filter in the wheel arch and found the top of it covered in diesel impregnated dirt. The outer sheild also shows signs of diesel as if it has been escaping from one or more of the pipes at the top. Is this normal or is it a sign that air has possibly got into the system?

Can you nip the filter up a bit more?
Is it leaking when you turn the ignition key to position 2 for 10 seconds? |

Filter & housing should be dry. Check filter is fully tight - Caterham will be along in a minute to further explain
Not 100% sure on 2.2 but 2.4 has no pump in the tank and if there's a leak in the system its easier to suck air in rather than diesel from the tank. You will need a priming bulb and associated pipes to bleed it properly. |
