If you're going to go to all the trouble of replacing them then definitely do it with galvanised ones. Darren

I've got a set I bought to fit onto my 90 as originals were rusting badly, however never got round to fitting them before I sold it . They're now in my garage, waiting to be advertised/sold and no use for me on my replacement 110! Best bit is I'm just 20 minutes down the road from you if you want to drop by for a look at them? Also have the replacement seals (think the lower ones only) to go with them. They're genuine landrover parts glavanised by Ashtree (whom I bought them from) Martin. 1996 300Tdi Defender 110 |

What is the difference between the cappings?
Mine was a pick-up and is now a hard top. The cappings from a pick-up are galvanised and then painted. Roel 1984 90 2.5 na Diesel - RR V8 (1994-2001) 1997 Camel Trophy Discovery 300TDI (2001-2009) 2005 G4 Discovery III 4.4 V8 (2008-2018) It's gone but it still hurts. 2003 90 Td5 (2009-now) |

I think factory SWs all have bulkhead removal bars behind the front seats, so there’s no bulkhead for capping to connect to, which means a slight different design at front end.
I think all cappings were galvanised to a point in time, now all are painted only. |
