I've always thought of skiing as a bit of a disaster!
All these flights and ski tows creating global warming, which in turn kills-off the skiing quicker!
Bit of a spiral effect...? Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

2002. There should be ‘metres’ of snow in these photos, too much to walk on, but you can clearly see how flat and hard it is.....

We went skiing last week to Portes du Soleil. I'd not been before, but its a collection of valleys, with a max height of circa 2200m. The snow was chuff below 1500.

I couldn't agree more! I was there a few weeks later (13 March) and was shocked to see the whole of Morzine dry and completely free of snow! There were many runs completely closed and those that were open (low down) were largely ice or covered in a brown tinge due to the mud coming through! Even at the top the snow wasn't ideal!

Luckily I was only skiing for 3 days so wasn't TOO much of a problem but.... still not ideal.
