evening all. wonder if you can help with getting the right exhaust bits I need.
Its a 90. NAS chassis. Cast D2 v8 headers. Ive fitted these downpipes with cats https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-DISC...2749.l2649 Then bought this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-DEFE...2749.l2649 As you might have guessed it doesnt fit The downpipes fit nicely. They come out towards the rear of the xfer box. The problem is that the centre box is way too long, probably needs to be half a long. The other issues is that the rear pipe fouls the brackets which hang down under the chassis. see pic. Click image to enlarge |

thanks greeni. worth a try. i need to eyeball a few and maybe measure up. The td5 chassis is a bit different to mine. mine has that tank bracket which sticks out towards the wheel, the td5 ones ive seen on google are just vertical if you see what i mean.
in other news, its really taking shape now. wings are on and its plumbed up pretty much. starts on the key, love it..... however its used 10l of fuel and its not moved a wheel yet lol. |

Make sure you fill up before going for your first MOT, just in case you run out of fuel and miss the appointment....

If you look up the relevant part No in the NAS parts list you can order the parts from a UK dealer.

I think my exhaust on the 50th is a TD5 system back from the cat. It has the TD5 centre silencer delete pipe in stainless and the rear section with a small silencer in stainless. (Think TD5 and PUMA are the same at the rear)
Everything except the downpipe. You can buy the bits separate or in stainless Some examples below. It benefits from having an exhaust olive between cats and Td5 mid section. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-DEFE...4092863152 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-DEFE...1748156702 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STAINLESS-STEEL...3399309400 |

TD5 exhaust fits 50th (NAS)- best solution I’ve used is a Devon 4x4 sport centre silencer for TD5 (you have to bend the support bracket to suit) this is much better sound than straight through pipe- then TD5 or Puma standard LR rear section with the small rear silencer (Find these in eBay easy as people take them off) I’ve go this on my 50th and it works a treat- not too loud either on motorway!

Thanks guys, very helpful. I’ve got one of those centre pipe pieces coming Monday. Will order the remainder if it looks right 👍

While you chaps are on a roll with the great advice.... The one bit of plumbing im now missing is the pump to tank hose for the power steering.
So standing in front of the landie. PS tank is mounted on right hand wing. PS pump is on right side of engine. Got a pipe which goes from pump down to PS box. Im missing the return pipe from the box to tank. any ideas? |

on the 50th RHD the PS tank is on the LH Wing above steering box and the Pump RH side of the engine. So sounds different to your setup. For the 50th I think these would be the pipes, but you'd need to check to confirm
ANR5782 is the pipe from PS tank to Pump QEP105760 is the pipe from Pump to Steering Box NTC8861 is from the box to the PS tank |

I think thats where im having issues, given its on the other side. I could change it over, but that would mean changing the other hose which fits nicely lol!
Ive just ordered a 300tdi return hose. it certainly looks right from the photo, or could be £25 down the swanney... |

Thanks guys. Bought a cheap the straight through centre pipe and the TD5/PUMA back box as suggested. it fits! Just about. The exhaust hangers for the centre section dont fit. Assume I need some adjustable hangers maybe.
Oh and its LOUD!!! I think this will do me for the MOT when its back on the road, but ill be getting something with a centre box. @GREENI - What exhaust you running on yours? |

I've not got any pics as it's long gone but Dad's old V8 90 used a TD5 centre and rear section which worked well. With a straight through mid-pipe it was a little noisy but I bet you could source a TD5 silencer cheap enough. 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop

Mike, I have a stainless sports system from Rimmers. Although I would not recommend it, the headers had to be 'manipulated' to get them fit as they fouled the chassis. If you don't mind the hassle it's not a bad system.
I also had some o2 sensor bungs welded in. |
