Outrageous.
Makes my blood boil. At times it really does seem as though our legal system has lost the plot. |

He'll most likely serve half of that. The prisons are so overcrowded and chronically understaffed they have been told by the government to release them early. Our justice system has never been so

Except on the most recent vote on the emergency powers to keep Terrorists behind bars, there was a clear cut sign many minority MP's clearly voted to actually continue to allow them to be released early.
![]() I know this incident wasn't Terrorism, however, it's still very similar in the holes in the justice system. It's been like this for a good 15 years or so now at least. And being in Bristol or near vicinity says it all to me, when it comes to their so called authorities and justice system. It wasn't so long ago they were talking about giving the crims a guaranteed job after they are released early too. ![]() Of course naturally that opens up many very highly paid opportunities for many "experts" in their field to "help" the criminals to "be good". The same applies to car thieves, they can make a lifelong career of it and their mates. Where one gets put away, another is let out it carry on the tradition. The powers that be I swear have the attitude it's only a car whatever it, a similar attitude applies to people's homes if damaged by intruders and items stolen. 3 prisons have been closed in the last 10 years and plans to build new prisons were scrapped.
Cheaper to buy electronic tags than keep criminals locked up. WARNING. This post may contain sarcasm. |

IMHO, most of these hardened criminals don't want to do an honest day's work for a reasonable wage.
They would rather peddle drugs, steal cars or property, scam folks out of their savings or do anything else illegal, rather than work for a living. There are clearly jobs out there for those prepared to roll up their sleeves and work. And sadly until our system can find a reliable way of persuading them otherwise, it's just going to get worse. For every one that gets caught and is handed a pathetic short term sentence, how many others continue to ruin people's lives with their self centred greed? I don't think the media helps either. The negative press over the past 24 hours surrounding the deportation of a bunch of criminals back to Jamaica is appalling. Even when our government agencies do take action, it seems as though the left leaning media in this country form ranks to support the badly done to miscreants, instead of praising strong and decisive action. Rant over, but common sense needs to prevail. |

Deporting criminals is clearly the right thing to do but it came across like a PR exercise.
If the government were serious about dealing with crime they wouldn't be releasing tens of thousands of prisoners early. The proven reoffending rate is 30% within the first year. That's 34,000 criminals released early only to commit another crime, be caught, prosecuted and banged up again. And at what cost financially? https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/...statistics God knows how many more offend again without getting caught. WARNING. This post may contain sarcasm. |
