You’re not wrong. I bet it’s quiet, economical, and the air-con will work well!

United Kingdom 2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS DCPU Keswick Green
Taking of Mercs and quality control, how about these recalls this week:

Alert number: A12/00902/20
Category: Motor vehicles
Product: Passenger car
Brand: Mercedes-Benz
Name: C-Class
Type / number of model: Type-approval number: e1*2001/116*0431*49-53 Type: 204
Company recall code: 4290201
Production dates: The affected vehicles were manufactured between 13 September 2018 and 6 November 2019.
Counterfeit: NO
Risk type: Injuries

The brake discs installed on the front axle may be too small (in diameter and thickness) and would not sit symmetrically in the brake calliper.
As a result, the brake lining can wear out and a gap between the piston and the sealing ring can be formed, allowing brake fluid to leak out.
This will impair the braking performance, increasing the risk of an accident. /

Measures taken by economic operators: Recall of the product from end users (By: Manufacturer)

Description: Model series BR 205.
Country of origin: Germany
Alert submitted by: Germany
Type of alert: Serious

How can you miss that on the production line for over a year!

And then if that's not bad enough, the halo model has this:

Alert number: A12/00923/20
Category: Motor vehicles
Product: Passenger car
Brand: Mercedes-Benz
Name: S-Class
Type / number of model: Type-approval number: e1*2001/116*0335*, Type: 221
Company recall code: 1892005
Production dates: The affected vehicles were manufactured between 8 March 2017 and 3 May 2019.
Counterfeit: NO
Risk type: Injuries

The material used in two closure plugs on the engine might not be able to withstand the maximum load under dynamic driving conditions, allowing up to 9 liters of engine oil to escape around the plugs.
Consequently, the escaped oil could leak onto the road, posing a risk to the following traffic. /

Measures taken by economic operators: Recall of the product from end users (By: Manufacturer)

Description: S-Class model series (BR 222) and S-Class Coupé/Cabriolet model series (BR 217) vehicles with 4.0 l 8 cylinder petrol engines.
Country of origin: Germany
Alert submitted by: Germany
Type of alert: Serious

I'm sure all LandRover owners will sympathise

And then the pièce de résistance:

Alert number: A12/00919/20
Category: Motor vehicles
Product: Passenger car
Brand: Mercedes- Benz
Name: G-Class
Type / number of model: Type-approval number: e1*2007/46*1830*00-01, Type: 463A
Company recall code: 7390003
Production dates: The affected vehicles were manufactured between 21 September 2017 and 8 October 2019.
Counterfeit: NO
Risk type: Injuries

An incorrectly embossed lock symbol for the child safety locks may lead to misinterpretations.
This could result in the rear doors being opened from inside despite apparently being locked, increasing the risk of an accident.

Measures taken by economic operators: Recall of the product from end users (By: Manufacturer)
Description:
Country of origin: Germany
Alert submitted by: Germany
Type of alert: Serious

MB do a recall for an incorrect sticker, JLR have an axle that might snap and... don't do a recall ~ but then JLR does talk about giving customers experiences that are life changing Whistle
