Do it at the garage, take a big broom and shovel and pick up the soil and place in builders bags in the tub. Dispose of in your garden "Great Escape" style or call in at the local council tip on the way home?

We tend to use the local petrol station Jetwash- its one with a very large drain to park over so there is minimal mess once the 110 has been washed off.
One of the supermarkets in the town centre have signs up saying no 4x4s- I guess they have gotten fed up with the mess some folk make- and also the design of their jetwash bay does mean that mud doesn't just run away easily. Might be worth looking round a few local ones to see which has a large drain, and taking a stiff brush with you brush down. Regards |

Our local supermarkets ban heavily soiled vehicles.
As Supacat says, find a jet wash at a garage where there are no restrictions? The option is to concrete the drive |

They probably ban 4x4 because of the costs. I can dump mud free of charge. They have to pay for it. Therefore I use a pressure washer at home and dispose the mud myself.

I just go to the Hand Car Wash at our local BP Petrol Station. Although mine are never as muddy as that, they do a fantastic job and I’ve seen them do some very muddy vehicles sometimes

Park it on a large tarpaulin? Maybe not ideal, wind could be an issue but you could pull it away and debris on it.
You might get dirty water though it and runoff around it but any general Mud would stay on it. You could then wash the sheet off somewhere convenient then store. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

For the OP poster truck I think he will have to refill that Sealey’s 17 liter water tank a few times.... Like 500 times or so? You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Half the problem round here is a lack of jet washes that allow you to feed the machine with pound coins to get what you want without having to buy a wash program.
I have been known to sneak in under cover of darkness or even give the bodywork a blow over with a hose and bucket and sponge then use the local jet wash to spend the time on the underside. I will then spend another pound to wash the mud into the drain. As more petrol stations have become mini supermarkets we have lost jet washes to extra parking spaces..... |

Hey it was an idea to get the worst off before going back on the road... not to obtain a concours finish. To be honest it's also a legal requirement not to mention anti social to turn onto a road off a track and then deposit huge lumps of mud for the next 100 metres. 5 minutes with a bit of water for the glass areas and a stick for the chassis and mud flaps does show willing. |

Typically after an off road day or heavy mudding I'll divert home via a reasonably deep ford. 2ft+ territory.
Give it a run through back and forth maybe 8 times. Great way of clearing out the chassis rails, underside and it splashes the top as well. Often runs through the rad pack nicely too. Then on the way home hit the Morrisons nearby, get any offending dirt off and then return home for a final clean on the driveway. Broom up at next convenience |
