Do the dashboard lights go out when the engine cuts out (all dials zero?)
I had this, random cut out, no funny engine / juddering etc just cut out for a split second. Fix was a new steering ignition barrel. No fault logged as it was possible before it got to that... Has worked fine since |

I believe this could also be an issue with relay connections under the seat. A mate had this on a TDCI everytime he turned a sharp corner and I'm sure he said pinching up the socket connections solved it.

The dashboard lights stay on and even the dials don't go to zero. However when the vehicle comes to a standstill then the ignition lights (the pre start mode red lights) come on. And she comes to life immediately when i re start the engine. |

The fuel filter is original Land Rover. Will need to check if air gets in. |

I’m having a similar issue, but dropping through idle to stall instead.
I’ll watch with interest how yours develops! https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69868.html |

Could this be the VCV valve?

Have a look at this, maybe it will help to assess the situation. As you have the 2.4 Puma, you do not have the diesel delivery pump insode of the fuel tank but directly on your common rail delivery pump:
Hopefully it helps. |

So it finally turned out that my problem was caused by a faulty common Rail pump which was replaced and I have had no further instances of the engine cutting out on me.
