It sounds highly risky to me especially in a loft space. 2016 Defender Landmark 90

The only way to find out is to hydraulic test one - fill it with water to the brim the pressurise it from your compressor until either you get to about 4 bar or it bursts. If it's ok at 4 bar you are *probably* ok at 2.
Filling it to the brim with water means it won't explode if it bursts since water is incompressible, this is the same way we hydraulic test loco boilers. |

When I did mine I used a plastic spray container (used for weedkiller etc) from B&Q I think. They are designed to be pressurised in order to vaporise the spray. Not sure what it held but it stood about 18" high perhaps 8"-10" diameter.

What about using an old calor style gas bottle?
We sell them at my work, and we have some empty big old ones that are surplus, you're very welcome to one of them. They're just outside Hindhead. 2007 90 Puma - Love it - Best car I have ever owned. 1989 Ninety 200tdi - Love it - Second best car I have ever owned. 1951 80" Series 1 - Love it - Third best car I have ever owned. |
